The Las Vegas Raiders have added another tight end to their roster. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders have agreed to terms with future Hall of Fame tight end Jason Witten on the second day of the legal tampering period.
Former Cowboys’ TE Jason Witten reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, source tells ESPN.
A veritable MNF booth in Vegas.

Witten returned to the field in 2019 after retiring in 2018 as he was hired by ESPN to work in the Monday Night Football booth. Witten caught 63 passes for 529 yards and four touchdowns with the Cowboys last year, but that was in a starting role.
This year, look for Witten to be the team’s third tight end, behind Darren Waller and Foster Moreau. The Raiders will likely use more three-tight end sets this season and Witten could contribute as a blocker and in the red zone.
Witten’s deal isn’t a lot as he can make a maximum of $4.75 million this season. But that isn’t very realistic as it would require him to put up big receiving numbers. Instead, look for him to be a part-time player and a fantastic resource for Waller and Moreau going forward.
