With Chandler Jones still on the Non-Football Injury list, the Raiders needed to add more veteran pass rushers to their roster. They just haven’t gotten enough from anyone on the defensive line outside of Maxx Crosby when it comes to rushing the passer.
However, they improved their depth on Wednesday by adding former Denver Broncos EDGE Malik Reed to the practice squad. That news was first reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
Veteran OLB Malik Reed is signing with the #Raiders practice squad, per source. Reed has 16 sacks in 59 career games (36 starts) with Denver and Pittsburgh.

Reed has bounced around the NFL over the past year, playing for the Broncos, Steelers and Dolphins. He is an undersized rusher who had an eight-sack season in 2020.
Reed just turned 27 in August and could make his way onto the active roster over the next few weeks. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
