Raiders 5-point underdogs in home opener vs Saints

Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas is opening in style this week. The Saints are coming to town in primetime on Monday night. It would be quite a party if any fans were allowed to attend. But the odds on the Raiders celebrating their new home with a win are not in their favor.

The Saints are currently between five and six-point favorites over multiple betting sites including 5.5-point favorites on BetMGM.

Both teams opened the season by putting up 34 points on their opponent. The Raiders beat the Panthers 34-30 and the Saints beat the Buccaneers 34-23. The Saints win was a lot more convincing and against a far more talented squad. They’re also coming off a 13-3 season in 2019 compared to 7-9 for the Raiders.

The Saints are laced with Pro Bowlers including, of course, Drew Brees and Alvin Kamara on offense and Cameron Jordan and Demario Davis on defense. The Saints are expected to be without All-Pro receiver Michael Thomas, but it remains to be seen how much that will ultimately affect the odds or the result of the game.
