After it was reported on Tuesday that the Los Angeles Rams were on the verge of hiring former Falcons interim coach Raheem Morris to be their new defensive coordinator, the deal became official on Thursday.
Morris, who was Atlanta’s defensive coordinator before taking over head-coaching duties from Dan Quinn in Week 6, went 4-7 over the team’s final 11 games of the season.
The Falcons interviewed Morris for the full-time position but ended up hiring Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith instead. Morris will replace former Rams defensive coordinator Brandon Staley, who became the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers.
