With the second event weekend in the 2024 Radical Cup North America calendar just around the corner on the weekend of April 25-28, teams and competitors are ready to descend on the rolling hills of Leeds, Ala., and Barber Motorsports Park. With a massive driver count, a new team, new machinery for some, and young, competitive talents, the intensity will ratchet up a notch alongside the NTT IndyCar Series.

“It’s great to see the entry list grow as we approach the registration deadline,” explained Radical Motorsport’s Tom Drewer. “We have a new team from the East Coast in EVR Motorsports set to make their series debut, as well as a huge contingent coming from Crown Concepts in the western half of the country, while Graham Rahal will be a driver and a team owner for the first time on the same weekend, competing with Rahal Letterman Lanigan in IndyCar but owning Graham Rahal Performance (GRP) in our series.”

Already confirmed in the Platinum class is Chip Romer as well as the Field duo of Clint and Jon, who took home all three wins at the opening round in Sebring last month. Luis Schriber will be a contender and Wayne Williams is expected to be fast yet again. Perennial frontrunner and huge Radical supporter Gregg Gorski will be absent due to work commitments overseas which could open some opportunities for others in the Platinum class including entrants Jim Booth and David Alban.

In the Pro 1500 ranks, Graham Rahal Performance’s Jordan Missig will look to continue his winning streak after a dominating opening event in Florida but will be put under pressure from the likes of Cameron Racing’s Spencer Schmidt, Canadian Austin Riley, Evan Slater, who will pilot new XXR machinery, Mike Anzaldi, as well as multi-time SVRA PSSA winner and SR10 competitor Raiden Nicol. Sebring podium winner Danny Dyszelski will be hunting for his first win of 2024 as Primal Racing will make their series debut with four drivers including Greg Folger, Chris Huhn, Raiden Nicol and David Mason.

Crown Racing with Apex will travel to Alabama with a large crew as they look to extend their point lead in both the drivers’ and teams’ championships. Chris McMurry will be joined by series newcomers Blake and Keith McGoven while Carl Fredrickson and Eric Griffin make their return.

Drewer added, “With 30 drivers already confirmed, registration is open on our website. Be sure to register before the end of the day tomorrow (Friday) to avoid any late fees.”
