Rutgers University boasts a proud football tradition.
The school played host to the first college football game in history — a 6-4 win over Princeton — more than 150 years ago.
Rutgers has won more than 650 football games since that first tussle on the gridiron, and six Scarlet Knights have been honored with membership in the College Football Hall of Fame: Harvey Harman, Homer Hazel, Alex Kroll, George Little, Paul Robeson and George Foster Sanford.
More than 60 Scarlet Knights players have been selected in the NFL draft over the decades, including Logan Ryan, Mohamed Sanu, Devin McCourty and Kenny Britt in recent years.
