Quinton Dunbar requests to be traded or released by Redskins

Dunbar reportedly wishes to be traded by the Redskins or released from the team.

According to ESPN’s John Keim, Washington Redskins cornerback Quinton Dunbar has requested to be traded, or released from the team.

Dunbar, who had a career year in 2019, has one year left on his contract worth $4.4 million, but it is not guaranteed. It was reported on Monday morning that Dunbar does not play to attend OTAs this spring in attempts to avoid injury risk. Now it appears that Dunbar wants out as a whole.

According to Keim, Dunbar had been in talks about a contract extension with the past coaching and front office regime, but those talks had not been reignited under Ron Rivera and the new staff. Dunbar is seemingly a player that the Redskins should like to keep, as he was one of the top pass-defenders in the NFL in 2019.
