Wins away from the CU Events Center haven’t come easy for the Buffs.
Entering Thursday, Colorado was just 1-8 in true road games with its last positive result coming in December at Stanford. The drought finally came to a close in their penultimate road game, though, as the Buffs rallied from a late six-point deficit to beat Arizona State.
Colorado ended the game on a 17-3 run aided by a pair of Javon Ruffin 3s and 11 of Tristan da Silva’s game-high 23 points. KJ Simpson also chipped in 12 on the night and fellow starter Luke O’Brien nearly had a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.
The now 15-12 Buffs (7-9 Pac-12) will make the short trip to Tucson for a 6 p.m. MT battle at Arizona on Saturday.
