Questionable spot costs Rams in loss to Steelers

The Steelers scored the last 14 points and got a good call on a measurement in beating the Rams

The Pittsburgh Steelers escaped with a 24-17 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at SoFi.

Sean McVay’s team having used all of its timeouts proved costly late in the fourth quarter.

Kenny Pickett tried a quarterback sneak on a fourth-and-1 late.

It appeared as if the QB’s knee was down short of achieving the first down.

However, the spot was favorable to Pittsburgh and gave the Steelers the first down.

McVay wasn’t able to challenge the spot because LA had called all of its timeouts and the game was outside the two-minute warning.

The fact the clocked ticked to 2:00 did not matter because the play took place before the warning.

The Steelers scored 14 straight points in the fourth quarter and outscored the Rams 21-8 in the victory that improved them to 4-2.

The Rams fell to 3-4, including 1-3 at home.
