Rick Barnes has landed a player from France for the second time in his tenure as Tennessee’s head coach.
Quentin Diboundje signed with the Volunteers on Wednesday. He is the second player from France to sign with the Vols under Barnes.
Fellow Frenchman Yves Pons, a dominating defensive post player, recently finished his stellar career in Knoxville. He was the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year in 2020.
Diboundje. a 6-foot-6, 185-pound guard and forward, is a native of Montpellier, France. He is one of France’s top players and will be a freshman at Tennessee next season.
He came to the United States last year where he was enrolled in the Monteverde Academy Center for Basketball Development.
In July, Diboundje will compete in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Latvia.
