QB Jordan Love believes he’ll wear No. 10 with Packers

The new Packers QB might be wearing his college number in Green Bay.

First-round pick Jordan Love thinks he’ll get to keep his college number with the Green Bay Packers.

Love, the 26th overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, told reporters during a conference call late Thursday night that he believes he’ll be wearing the No. 10 – the same number he wore during high school and at Utah State – in Green Bay.

Currently, second-year receiver Darrius Shepherd holds the No. 10 with the Packers. Shepherd wore No. 20 at North Dakota State and could be a candidate to switch numbers. Teams occasionally hand out a single number to more than one player on a 90-man roster, but the players usually play on different sides of the ball.

Love wore the No. 5 at the Senior Bowl, but that number has been rarely worn since Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Hornung left the Packers in 1966.

Several former Packers quarterbacks have won the No. 10, including Matt Flynn and Lynn Dickey.
