Eternals, the latest addition to Marvel’s ever-expanding cinematic universe, was officially released in theaters this week and it has made a powerful impact on the franchise and the movie industry as a whole. Aside from introducing a gay superhero, Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), who kisses his husband on-screen, the studio’s casting of Lauren Ridloff as Makkari gave Marvel its first deaf superhero.
“It felt about time,” Ridloff told For The Win on Friday.
