The Boilers had a glaring weakness in Saturday’s loss that Wisconsin can exploit

One of the pieces of new Wisconsin quarterback Tanner Mordecai’s game that some Badger fans may have not been aware of when he signed in Madison is the threat to scramble.

Mordecai showed off that ability with an 18-yard touchdown run against Georgia Southern to help solidify the Wisconsin win in the second half, and scored twice with his legs in the win.

Purdue looked lost against the quarterback run on Saturday in their 35-20 loss to Syracuse that dropped them to 1-2 on the season.

The Orange, led by quarterback Garrett Shrader, picked apart the Boilers defense. Shrader ran for 195 yards and four, count them, four touchdowns on the ground. While Shrader has always been a threat to run, this is someone who had 453 total rushing yards all of last season. He nearly ended up with half of that total on Saturday.

Mordecai could look to use his elusiveness early and often on Friday night in West Lafayette.
