Puka Nacua to undergo testing on injured knee Monday

Puka Nacua will have undergo further evaluation on his injured right knee, the same knee he hurt during training camp

Of the many injuries the Los Angeles Rams suffered on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions, Puka Nacua’s is certainly the most concerning. The star receiver left the game in the second quarter after injuring his knee and though he returned for one play, he then exited again and was ruled out.

It’s the same knee he hurt in a joint practice with the Chargers this summer, though he seemed to be fully recovered from it. Sean McVay didn’t have an update on Nacua after the overtime loss but the receiver will undego further testing Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

“He’s going to have tests this afternoon just to determine what is going on there in his knee,” Rapoport said. “No firm word yet on his status but obviously same knee as training camp, clearly an issue there, clearly in some pain that he was battling through. Wouldn’t be surprised if he misses some time as he figures out and tries to improve this issue.”

Nacua missed a few weeks during training camp after his initial knee injury, which was a burst bursa sac.
