Remember the name Puka Nacua because if you’re ever asked a trivia question about who has the most catches in his first two NFL games, he’s the answer.
With yet another outstanding performance against the 49ers on Sunday, Nacua set the NFL record for the most receptions ever by a player in his first two career games. It broke the tie with Earl Cooper of the 49ers, who had 19 in his first two games. No other player had more than 18, and Nacua is already up to 22 catches – and counting.
Nacua is doing his best Cooper Kupp impression, operating as the Rams’ No. 1 receiver out of the slot. He may not be creating a lot of big plays, but he’s moving the chains and picking up good chunks of yardage.
At the time of this post, he had 12 catches for 116 yards on 15 targets after catching 10 passes for 119 yards last week.
Now official.
