PSA: Elden Ring spoilers have leaked online ahead of release

Be careful browsing social media for the next week.

Spoilers for FromSoftware’s wildly anticipated action RPG Elden Ring are already floating around online one week before its Feb. 25, 2022 release.

As first spotted by Eurogamer, several critical moments and boss encounters in Elden Ring are floating around on social media. GLHF can confirm these are genuine, so be extremely cautious while browsing social media looking for Elden Ring content. The opening cutscene is already on YouTube, and it’s one of the first videos that comes up while searching for the game. Bandai Namco is trying to take everything down, but that’ll be a tough fight for the publisher to win.

The hype for Elden Ring is culminating in near tangible levels by now, so the temptation to give in and peak at spoilers is understandable. Try to remember that director Hidetaka Miyazaki and co-writer George R.R. Martin would probably want everyone to experience the game once it’s actually out.

Besides, you could do a million other things than spoil one of 2022’s biggest games. Why not focus on Horizon Forbidden West! It’s coming out tomorrow, after all. Or better yet, start playing Final Fantasy 14 already. Conversely, you could always shut off that phone and go touch some grass outside. A frightening notion, that.
