The Chicago Bulls have worked on adding depth this offseason with the acquisitions of veterans Goran Dragic and Andre Drummond while resigning All-Sar Zach LaVine to a max contract.
But, what if a much bigger move was made to help take the Bulls over the top?
On the lastest episode of the Bulls Talk Podcast, K.C. Johnson and Rob Schafer discussed a potential trade that would land eight-time All-Star and NBA Champion Anthony Davis in his hometown of Chicago.
The proposed trade would send Nikola Vucevic, Coby White, Patrick Williams, and two first-round picks to the Lakers in exchange for Davis.
Schafer’s take:
“I would probably do it if he was healthy. I mean he’s a generational talent… he is hurt a lot, but also a lot would have to go wrong in LA. If they made a trade like this if they were shopping him that would mean they’re probably tearing the whole thing down. Cause even this return of Vuc, Coby, Patrick Williams, and two first-round picks even add that to a team built around LeBron James and I don’t think that helps them get close to a championship.”

The addition of Davis alongside DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine would form a dynamic trio of All-Stars with Davis as the defensive anchor in the middle. With role players such as Lonzo Ball, Alex Caruso, Ayo Dosunmu, Goran Dragic, and Andre Drummond, the Bulls would roster legitimate depth and role players to team up with their big three.
Now, the Bulls would do this trade in an instant, but would the Lakers? No chance.
