Projecting Michigan football’s 2020 depth chart

Using both some inside intel as well as plenty of guesswork, here’s who we think will see the field for the Wolverines this fall.

Cornerback

Ambry Thomas Vincent Gray
DJ Turner Jalen Perry (or) Andre Seldon

We didn’t include nickelback, just the two starters on the ends. Ambry Thomas returns for his senior year and is poised to have an All-Big Ten year this year. Vincent Gray was the third-man after Thomas and Lavert Hill last year, and the staff constantly raves about him. We anticipate he’ll earn the starting job opposite Thomas.

We have DJ Turner as both the likely nickelback and third-man off the bench. But, early reports on true freshman Andre Seldon have been quite positive, and the former Belleville star is likely to get some early playing time. Jalen Perry was on scout team last year and didn’t see time on special teams. However, having gone up against the ones in practice might have helped suit him for playing time this year.

Don’t count out: Darion Green-Warren hasn’t gotten to campus yet, but the former four-star from Southern California was highly recruited and could make a push once he gets to campus.
