Projecting Bears’ starting defense ahead of Week 1

We’re predicting what the Bears starting defense will look like heading into the Week 1 opener against the 49ers.

The Chicago Bears will host the San Francisco 49ers in their season opener on Sunday, and there are plenty of changes on defense heading into the 2022 season.

The Bears defense have made the transition to a 4-3 scheme under head coach Matt Eberflus, and they’ve also welcomed in some new faces to the fold in Al-Quadin Muhammad, Nicholas Morrow and rookies Kyler Gordon and Jaquan Brisker.

With the season opener just a few days away, we’re taking a crack at projecting Chicago’s starting defense.

Note: Our projections include nickel cornerback, which is why there are 12 players listed.
