Arkansas freshman Anthony Black announced Wednesday on ESPN’s “NBA Today” that he will forgo his remaining college eligibility and declare for the 2023 NBA draft.
Black, who was named to the SEC All-Freshman team, averaged 12.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.1 steals. He led the conference in minutes (34.9) and was the only player to rank inside the top 25 in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals and blocks (22).
The 6-foot-7 guard is projected to be a lottery pick after emerging as a great scoring option for the Razorbacks. He showed promise as a cutter with his off-ball movement and was a standout on defense with his length and quickness.

Black will need to improve as a shooter, after converting only 30.1% last season, and bulk up to endure the physicality at the next level, but he should still be a high pick this year. He checks a lot of boxes and should be a regular contributor at the next level.
Underclassmen have until April 23 to declare for the draft.
