Prince Amukamara among Cardinals’ 4 protected practice squad players

Among the four protected practice squadders for this week, only Amukamara has not been previously elevated to the active roster.

The Arizona Cardinals, as most of the other teams in the NFL, have protected practice squad players this week, according to the NFL transaction report from Tuesday. They protected four players, including a pair of cornerbacks.

This week’s protections are:

  • CB Prince Amukamara
  • DL Michael Dogbe
  • TE Seth DeValve
  • CB Jace Whittaker

Amukamara has yet to be elevated to the active roster this season. The other three have at some out. DeValve was elevated for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams and he played two snaps.

The Cardinals have been using practice squad elevations to give them a third tight end for game days while Darrell Daniels is on injured reserve.

These protections prevent other teams from signing them during the week.

The Cardinals are on the road this weekend against the New York Giants with a 1 p.m. ET kickoff.
