Pressure increased for Seahawks, as 49ers obliterate Jaguars 34-3

In recent weeks, the Seattle Seahawks have been able to move into position for a share of 1st place in the NFC West thanks to a three-game losing streak by the San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, San Francisco was able to get off the schneid in a big way in Week 10.

The 49ers, coming off a bye, traveled east to Duval County, FL for a showdown with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars, on a five-game win streak themselves, were supposed to be a road challenge for San Francisco.

Jacksonville was more of a speedbump (at best) than a roadblock, as the 49ers absolutely waxed the Jaguars to the tune of 34-3. San Francisco looked like the team they were during the first five weeks of the season. They ran for 144 yards as a team, Brock Purdy had three touchdowns and 296 yards passing, and newly acquired defensive end Chase Young recorded half a sack along with two quarterback hits.

This puts pressure squarely on the Seahawks, who now need a win over the visiting Commanders just to stay tied with the 49ers in first place. A loss to Washington would be a crucial blow, and would greatly diminish any remaining margin for error Seattle might enjoy.
