Pregame injury report: Michigan without a few players against Rutgers

Let’s get this win! #GoBlue

There will be some surprising absences for Michgian football when it takes the field at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Starting left tackle, Ryan Hayes will miss Saturday night against the Scarlet Knights. The reasons aren’t exactly known but it should be nothing serious. Jeff Persi is expected to get the start for Hayes on Saturday and this will be his first career start as a Wolverine. Persi was a four-star prospect from the class of 2020.

Wide receiver Roman Wilson is also out and didn’t make the trip to Piscataway. Like Hayes, the reasoning isn’t exactly known, but we don’t believe there is anything seriously wrong with the speedster. Andrel Anthony and AJ Henning may get some more snaps against the Scarlet Knights.

It was unknown if Gemon Green would play or not after getting injured by Michigan State players last week in the tunnel, but he did travel with the team and is in uniform for the Wolverines. It looks as if he will try and play against Rutgers. We’re not sure if his snaps may be limited or not but we do think that Green will give it a go.

There will be a few other defensive players held out against Rutgers. Jaylen Harrell, Makari Paige, and Kalel Mullings will all be inactive. Just like the others, nothing sounds to be seriously wrong.
