The Los Angeles Chargers are traveling to take on the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High on Sunday afternoon in a Week 13 matchup.
The Chargers are coming off their bye week, eager to snap their two-game losing streak and potentially go on a run, as their playoff chances have not been mathematically diminished, despite being 4-7.
Meanwhile, the Broncos have also dropped their last two contests. Denver, who is currently 3-8, have been competitive in nearly every game they’ve played, but have found themselves unable to close games out in the fourth quarter.
Los Angeles needs to be efficient on the offensive side of the ball, particularly quarterback Philip Rivers, facing a passing defense that ranks top-5 in the NFL. On the other side of the ball, making rookie Drew Lock’s debut unwelcoming and stopping running back Phillip Lindsay will be key.
Chargers Wire feels like the team should benefit from the bye week. Rivers will bounce back from his past two woeful outings, running backs Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler will have a day and the defense will be lock down, especially with the return of safeties Derwin James and Adrian Phillips.
We see Los Angeles winning in a low scoring affair, 20-17.
