The drivers of the No.73 ORECA were announced in November and December: Canadian Bronze driver Chris Cumming and ex-Rahal Letterman Lanigan IndyCar driver Pietro Fittipaldi will run all seven LMP2 races this season, alongside Indy NXT sophomore James Roe for the Michelin Endurance Cup, and newly-signed PREMA IndyCar ace Callum Ilott for Daytona.
Long-time Pratt Miller Program Director Marc Maurini will lead the new LMP2 effort. Maurini previously worked as a Pratt Miller engineer for the Chevrolet IndyCar engine program before becoming the Corvette Racing program director in the fall of 2020.
The Pratt Miller LMP2 program marks the firm’s return to its prototype racing roots, which began in 1991 with the Pratt Miller-constructed, Riley-designed Intrepid RM-1, and later included development of the Corvette Daytona Prototype.
