In a continued look at possible free agent signings for the Arizona Cardinals, today we look at wide receiver Curtis Samuel.
Samuel, stats aside, would make a ton of sense in Kliff Kingsbury’s scheme. He is a true slot receiver, would give the Cardinals a number 2 option and he can also run the ball.
His stats from 2020 were quite impressive. He had 77 catches for 851 yards and three touchdowns. On top of all that production, which would have easily been the second-best total for a receiver on the Cardinals, he had over 200 yards on the ground for the Panthers, averaging almost 5 yards per carry.
It would seem the Carolina Panthers would prioritize re-signing Samuel to give their new quarterback, whoever that is, an immediate weapon to work with, but stranger things have happened.
Right now, Spotrac estimates he is worth a deal paying him more than $12 million per year.
Samuel would check multiple boxes for Arizona. He could be a No. 2 wide receiver, he could be rushing help if they lose Kenyan Drake to free agency and he is a true slot receiver.
What do you think? Should Arizona look to make a huge splash and sign the dynamic Samuel to give Kyler Murray another weapon?
