In a continued look at free agents the Arizona Cardinals could look to sign, today we look at tight end Jonnu Smith.
The Cardinals have a need at tight end, and Smith could easily fill that void if Arizona chooses to sign him without the cost of a tight end such as Hunter Henry (Spotrac estimates he would get a contract of $8 million per year).
Smith had a solid fifth-year campaign in 2020 with 41 catches, 448 yards and 8 TDs. He finished with a respectable 75.2 PFF grade as well.
It seems that the Titans may want to keep him, given he has flourished with Ryan Tannehill under center, becoming a weapon for Tennessee.
However, his upside may be tantalizing for Arizona, given that he could stay on the field for all three downs, as well as being able to be a solid blocker. Jess Root himself mentioned on the latest podcast that he would love to see the Cards sign Smith.
What do you think Cardinals fans? Should Arizona try to bring Smith to the desert?
