Trail Blazers at Lakers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Trail Blazers 114, Lakers 109

Money line (ML)

The TRAIL BLAZERS (+150) are the smart play as the Lakers continue to slump without Davis. They’ve lost five of their last six games with their only win coming against the Minnesota Timberwolves in a close game.

They weren’t even competitive in their recent game against the Utah Jazz and appear to be coasting until the All-Star break. While they could certainly turn on the switch for this primetime meeting against Portland, take the Trail Blazers, who have won 8 of their previous 12 games.

Against the spread (ATS)

TRAIL BLAZERS +4.5 (-110) is another smart bet if the money line feels too risky.

Portland is 7-2 against the spread in its last nine games despite missing several key pieces in the starting lineup. The Blazers have lost three straight games, but they managed to hang with the Denver Nuggets Tuesday night as they covered a 6-point spread.

If they don’t win outright, expect them to keep this game within a few baskets. The Lakers failed to cover the spread in five of their last six games. Not great.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 221.5 (-110) is the right play as both teams are averaging over 111 points per game. Los Angeles has a top-three scoring defense, but that is with Davis on the floor. He’s not available Friday and that is a huge loss.

Look for the Blazers to score into the mid-110s and for the Over to hit at Staples Center.
