Anyone eager for more pocket monsters in their life will be happy to hear that the Pokémon Company just announced that Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are coming out in late 2022 for the Nintendo Switch.
Long-time series developer Game Freak is behind Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. Both titles will feature an entirely new region, and three new starter Pokémon: Fire Croc Fuecoco, Water Duckling Quaxly, and Grass Cat Sprigatito.
In the official press release, The Pokémon Company state that Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will feature an open world, where towns blend seamlessly into the wilderness and Pokémon roam about freely. The core series appears to be some taking influence from Pokémon Legends: Arceus in that regard.

There’s no gameplay of either title yet, but at least The Pokémon Company released some artwork of the three new starters.

That’s all there is for details on Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet thus far. Pretty light stuff information-wise, although now all that surprising. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company likely don’t want to pull all attention off Pokémon Legends: Arceus while it’s still hot.
