Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day adds Mega Gardevoir, Shiny Tapu Lele

The upcoming Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event adds Mega Gardevoir, new Shiny Pokemon, and a Furfrou form to the mobile game

The upcoming Pokemon GO Valentine’s Day event adds Mega Gardevoir, new Shiny Pokemon, and a Furfrou form, alongside a new move for Gardevoir or Gallade you obtain during the event. The Mythical Wishes Valentine event runs from Feb. 8, 2023, through Feb. 14, 2023, with a special Luvdisc Research Day planned for Feb. 11, 2023, with an increased chance of finding Shiny Luvdisc.

During the Mythical Wishes event, you can encounter Mega Gardevoir for the first time in Mega Raids. Kirlia you evolve into Gardevoir or Gallade will learn the new move Synchronise as well, and you can encounter Gardevoir and Gallade in raids after the event who will know the move.

Complete the Lovely Wishes timed research to earn either extra candy or extra XP and a chance to encounter Shiny Frillish. This is the first time Frillish’s shiny form will be available in the mobile game.

For the event’s duration, you can change your normal form Furfrou to heart trim Furfrou. You also have a higher chance of finding Furfrou – possibly a Shiny one, at that – along with Flebebe, Skitty, Illumise, both Nidoran genders, and Woobat, all of whom except Flebebe may be Shiny. Less common finds include Shiny Chansey, Audino, and Alomomola.

Finally, on the Raid front, you may encounter Shiny Tapu Lele in 5-star Raids, the first time this Pokemon’s Shiny variant has shown up.

The Pokemon GO blog has the full list of events and special appearances. If you’re attending the Pokemon GO Hoenn Tour, keep an eye out for Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre as well.
