Regirock is a hard one to crack in Pokémon GO‘s Raids, but this guide will show you how to shatter the golems resistance.
The Return of the Regis in Pokémon GO will take place on November 28 between 6pm and 7pm local time as part of a special Raid Hour. Little Hoopa will once again play tricks on the trainers during the course of “Mischief Unbound,” the game’s current end-of-season event, and put Regirock, Regice and Registeel up for battle. The shiny variants of the three elemental giants can be found in these raids, so if they’re still missing from your collection, this is a good time to square them away.

Regirock: Weaknesses
Regirock commands 42,768 Competition Points (CP) as a fifth-level raid boss. A triumph over the stone monster lets you tame a specimen with a strength between 1,703 to 2,230 CP. Partly cloudy weather makes the most powerful creatures crawl out of their caves. Regirock is a pure Rock-type. The weak points of the giant are therefore Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground and Steel attacks – this offers you a rich choice of counters.
Regirock: Best Counters
- Mega Blastoise (Water Gun, Hydro Cannon)
- Metagross (Bullet Punch, Meteor Mash)
- Mega Venusaur (Vine Whip, Frenzy Plant)
- Mega Gyarados (Waterfall, Hydro Pump)
- Conkeldurr (Counter, Dynamic Punch)
- Zarude (Vine Whip, Power Whip)
- Lucario (Counter, Aurasphere)
- Kyogre (Waterfall, Surf)
- Breloom (Counter, Grass Knot)
- Garchomp (Mud Shot, Earth Power)
- Landorus (Therian Forme) (Mud Shot, Earthquake)
- Empoleon (Metal Claw, Hydro Cannon)
- Groudon (Mud Shot, Earthquake)
- Excadrill (Metal Claw, Earthquake)
- Swampert (Water Gun, Hydro Cannon)
With such a wide selection of counters, you should have no trouble fielding a strong force against Regirock. Water Pokémon are prominent on the list and can work great, however, it is possible for the rock giant to master the Electric-type move Zap Cannon – that one just grills Water monsters. Grass, Fighting, or Ground types are therefore probably the safest options.
