Brian Metz enters his first season as tight ends coach at Ohio in 2020.

Metz is from Knoxville and played at Catholic High School.

After high school, Metz graduated from Notre Dame in 2013 and was part of the Fighting Irish’s football equipment staff. He then launched his coaching career, serving as an intern at Ohio from 2013-14.

Metz then went to Memphis and was an offensive intern for Justin Fuente and the Tigers in 2015.

From 2016-18 he returned to Ohio as a offensive graduate assistant during the 2016-18 seasons. The Bobcats played at Tennessee in 2016, losing a close contest, 28-19.

Last season, Metz served as a graduate assistant at UNLV before coming back to Ohio for his first on-field coaching position.
