Playoff update for 5-star Florida QB commit DJ Lagway

Florida’s quarterback of the future, DJ Lagway, has led his high school team through the first two round of the state playoffs.

Last time we checked in on Florida commit DJ Lagway, the five-star quarterback had wrapped up the first 10-0 regular season in Willis High history and had his eyes on the state playoffs.

The Wildkats have taken care of business so far, beating Nimitz, 62-34, in the bi-district round and Tomball Memorial, 42-21, in areas. Up next, Lagway leads Willis against nationally-ranked DeSoto inside the Alamodome. This will be the biggest test of Lagway’s high school career, but he’s been is typical self so far through the playoffs.

Over the two games, Lagway has completed 46 of 74 pass attempts for 748 yards and eight touchdowns. He threw two interceptions against Tomball Memorial, but turnovers haven’t been an issue for him this season. Lagway also added 148 yards and four scores on the ground.

Lagway’s season total is up to 4,269 yards, according to MaxPreps. He’s approaching state-record numbers but needs another 500-600 yards to join the top 10.

Florida’s quarterback of the future has put together quite the swan song so far. Let’s see how far he can take Willis.
