Although Kevin Durant played his college ball at the University of Texas, he’ll always first be linked to where he grew up: Maryland — specifically Prince George’s County, which the Brooklyn Nets superstar recently released a documentary on.

Also located in Prince George’s County is the University of Maryland, where Jalen Smith spent the last two years of his basketball career playing in the Big Ten for the Terps.

Like Durant, Smith is also a Maryland native. The 20-year-old could also soon be a member of the Brooklyn Nets, too.

Throughout the elongated build-up to the 2020 NBA Draft on November 18, some draft experts have projected the forward will go to Brooklyn. Smith told reporters on a Zoom call the Nets were one of the first NBA teams to interview him, per Brian Lewis of The New York Post.

Lewis also reported Smith said it would be “a dream come true” if he got the chance to play with and learn from Durant.
