LeBron James on Sunday became the first player in history to be named the NBA Finals MVP on three different teams after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat 106-93 in Game 6 to claim their 17th championship and first since 2010.
Behind an unrelenting aerial attack and an outstanding display of defense, the Lakers dominated the Heat from start to finish after leading by as many as 36 points. The Lakers held the Heat to just 36 points in the first half while L.A. limited Miami to just 44.3% shooting from the field.
James captured his fourth career championship by recording 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists, his 28th career triple-double in the playoffs and 11th in the NBA Finals. James passed Derek Fisher for the most career playoff appearances with 260.
Following the historic win by James and the Lakers, players from around the league jumped on social media to offer their reaction to the NBA Finals as the 2019-20 season finally came to a conclusion.
