Players react to NBA suspending season after positive COVID-19 result

NBA players react to the season being suspended following the result of Rudy Gobert testing positive for the coronavirus.

The NBA announced that they will suspend the season until further notice after a player on the Utah Jazz tested positive for the coronavirus, officially named COVID-19 by the World Health Organization.

Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY reported that the player was Jazz center Rudy Gobert. The test result was reported shortly prior to tipoff between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder but the NBA said the player was not present at the arena prior to the game beginning.

After the game between the Jazz and Thunder was canceled, players were sent back to the locker room to be quarantined and were still being held for testing of the coronavirus.

Once the NBA announced the season would be suspended, players immediately took to social media to share their reactions to the news as the league enters into uncharted territory.

The NBA will use this hiatus to determine the next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.
