ORLANDO, Fla. — The Philadelphia 76ers stayed in the state of Florida to continue their 4-game road trip on Wednesday when they paid a visit to the Orlando Magic. The Sixers were still a short-handed bunch as they were missing Joel Embiid for a second consecutive game due to a right ankle sprain while Nic Batum remains out due to a right hamstring strain.

Tyrese Maxey stepped up in a big way in this one following his struggles in Miami on Christmas Day. He led the way for Philadelphia with 23 points and six rebounds as the Sixers walked away with a 112-92 win over the Magic on the road. Philadelphia earned its first win without Embiid on the season.

Tobias Harris added 22 points and six rebounds, Marcus Morris Sr. had 14 off the bench, De’Anthony Melton had 22 points and five rebounds, and Paul Reed added 15 points and nine rebounds. Patrick Beverley added 10 points as well.
