PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers faced a tough challenge on Friday night in the form of the rival New York Knicks. The Sixers have been playing terrific ball thus far this season, but the Knicks entered the night 2-0 with the big addition of OG Anunoby and were looking to keep things rolling.
Philadelphia jumped out to a 10-point lead, but the Knicks turned it on at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The 10-point deficit turned into a lead as large as 39 for the Knicks on their way to a 128-92 win. Jalen Brunson led New York with 30 points. The Sixers shot just 41.1% from the floor and 6-for-21 from deep on the night.
Tyrese Maxey had 27 points and nine assists while Joel Embiid had 30 points and 10 rebounds for Philadelphia. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 15 points and seven rebounds while Tobias Harris had five points.
