Player grades: Patty Mills scores 23 as Nets lose to Bucks 118-113

Here are your Nets player grades for Thursday’s 118-113 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Brooklyn Nets visited Fiserv Forum on Thursday to face the Milwaukee Bucks for the final time this season and lost 118-113. The Bucks win the regular-season series 3-1.

For the Nets, Patty Mills had 23 points and seven rebounds while Cam Thomas had 21 points and four rebounds. Dru Smith had 17 points and David Duke Jr. had 13 points.

For the Bucks, Bobby Portis had 28 points and 13 rebounds while Brook Lopez had 24 points and nine blocks. Grayson Allen had 19 points and Jrue Holiday had 11 points.

In the first half, after the Nets got off to a quick 13-5 start with 8:53 left in the first quarter, things went downhill from there. There was a stretch where Brooklyn did not score a point in over four minutes as it was clear that most of the offensive players for this team were resting. The second quarter was played to an even 27-27 tie as Milwaukee started missing some shots as the Nets’ effort picked up.

In the second half, Brooklyn started by continuing its wonderful effort on both ends of the floor by winning the third quarter 33-23. The Bucks got their act together in the fourth quarter, but it still came down to the wire in this one as Brooklyn’s bench played incredibly down the stretch. For a game in which Brooklyn was essentially conceding the game, they surely made it interesting.
