NEW YORK — The Brooklyn Nets hosted the Orlando Magic at Barclays center on Saturday and won 129-101.
For the Nets, Mikal Bridges had 42 points and five rebounds while Spencer Dinwiddie had 22 points and four rebounds. Cam Thomas had 20 points and Cam Johnson had 14 points.
For the Magic, Franz Wagner had 20 points and seven rebounds while Cole Anthony had 20 points and five rebounds off the bench. Paolo Banchero had 19 points and Moritz Wagner had 18 points off the bench.
In the first half, the Nets began the game with an effort that they did not show on Thursday night against the Hornets as they won every 50/50 ball against the Magic. Also, Mikal Bridges had the best half of his career as he scored 34 points from all over the floor, including from behind the three-point line. Brooklyn went into halftime leading Orlando 73-51.
In the second half, the Magic made a furious comeback to start the third quarter as they started to make some of the easy shots that they were missing in the first half along with the Nets starting to get sloppy with their play to begin the half. After about halfway through the third quarter, Brooklyn picked up their play to force Orlando out of striking distance into a fourth quarter that was Nets-dominated just like the first.
