The Philadelphia 76ers paid a visit to the ATL to take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday in an in-season tournament game. The matchup was important in terms of keeping the Sixers alive to come out of group play and reach the quarterfinals. The Sixers were 1-1 in group play entering this contest with the Hawks at 1-0 and the idle Indiana Pacers at 2-0.

In what was an overall sloppy game for both teams in terms of turnovers and missing easy looks, it was Joel Embiid and the Sixers who walked away with the 126-116 win. They made just enough plays down the stretch in order to stay alive in group play and keep their hopes for a trip to Las Vegas alive.

Embiid had 32 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists, Tyrese Maxey added 19 points and eight dimes, Tobias Harris had 29 points and 10 rebounds, and De’Anthony Melton had 14. Robert Covington added six points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Danuel House Jr. added 14 off the bench.
