PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers returned home to play host to the San Antonio Spurs looking to extend their winning streak. The Sixers have been playing terrific basketball as of late and have continued to establish themselves in the Eastern Conference title race.

The matchup on Monday featured two of the game’s giants: Joel Embiid for Philadelphia and Victor Wembanyama for San Antonio. Wembanyama, the favorite to win Rookie of the Year, was able to match up with Embiid pretty well due to his 7-foot-4 frame and bother him a bit, but Embiid is just on another level and finished with a career-high and a franchise record 70 points, 18 rebounds, and five assists to lead the Sixers to a 133-123 win over the Spurs. Wembanyama had 33 points and seven rebounds.

Tobias Harris had 14 points and six assists, Tyrese Maxey had 18 points and eight assists, Nic Batum had five points, eight rebounds, and six assists, and Paul Reed gave six and eight rebounds off the bench.
