Eddie Faulkner, who served as interim offensive coordinator after the firing of Matt Canada, was given a contract extension under his previous role as running backs coach, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.
Along with play-caller Mike Sullivan, who remains with the organization in a role still being assessed, Faulkner helped the Steelers to a 4-3 record to close out the 2023 regular season.
This is a solid move by Pittsburgh, whose run game showed marked improvement over the past two seasons.
Schultz believes Faulkner, who is “well regarded across the league,” should be a strong offensive coordinator candidate in the future.
