Penguins at Islanders picks and predictions
Prediction
Islanders 2, Penguins 1
Moneyline
LEAN ISLANDERS (-115).
New York, despite being the slightly worse team, has a good chance to come away with the win here. New York won 5-1 in the 1st meeting of this 4-game season series and look to take this game vs. a divisional opponent that has been terrible in divisional games. Pittsburgh is 0-6 in their last 6 against their division and 1-5 in their last 6 following a win.
Puck line/Against the spread
LEAN PENGUINS +1.5 (-280).
Pittsburgh should make this a close game despite their recent ATS mediocrity and struggles within the division. Both these teams are very similar and it is hard to consistently blow out a team that is very similar to yours and the Islanders already have a blowout win against Pittsburgh. I’m not a fan of betting on such a heavy favorite so feel free to avoid this bet, if you do bet I would suggest a wager to win half a unit.
Over/Under
BET UNDER 5.5 (+105).
The Under is slightly safer for both teams of late. The Under is 4-1 in the Islanders last 5 vs. the Eastern Conference and is 5-0 in their last 5 after scoring 2+ goals in the previous game. For Pittsburgh the Under is 9-1-2 in their last 12 vs. the Metropolitan division and 5-1-2 in their last 8 Friday games.
