On Sunday, the one bright spot from the Pittsburgh Steelers miserable 30-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers was the play of edge rusher T.J. Watt. You can tell Watt is determined to put his 2022 season behind him and re-establish himself as the best pass rusher in the NFL.
Watt got off to a great start with 3.0 sacks on Sunday, giving him 80.5 for his career. This ties him with Steelers legend James Harrison for No. 1 on the Pittsburgh career sack list. Watt achieved this remarkable number in only 88 career games.

Watt was the Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 when he tied the single-season sack record with 22.5 sacks. If the Steelers defense is going to reclaim its former glory Watt must be the player to lead the charge. On Sunday against the Niners, once San Francisco got a big lead it neutralized Watt’s pass rush to a degree and allowed the Niners to just run the ball at will.
