Arkansas opens the season in Little Rock in 11 days, but head coach Sam Pittman gave fans a little preview Tuesday in the capital city.
During the Little Rock Touchdown Club luncheon, Pittman spoke about the prospects of his team and traded old war stories.
At one point he spoke about some of the wins he’s had during his three seasons and that the Liberty Bowl stuck out to him.
He then made a gambling joke and told people that bet on the Hogs to cover the spread against Kansas to get over it, or quit gambling.

Later on he mentioned that they brought on Marcus Woodson as the defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator and that his Florida State defense finished seventh in pass defense the country last year.
“We finished last year,” Pittman joked. “We had a number next to our name for sure.”
He mentioned that they lost four games by nine points last year and how disappointing that was, but also remarked that he didn’t want to fire himself for it.
Pittman also had a comment about this year’s schedule and the four game stretch from Sept. 23 to Oct. 14 where the Razorbacks play LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Alabama all outside the state’s borders.
“That’s what you sign up for, isn’t it?” Pittman asked the room. “You can either look it like oh my or OH MY?”
Basically either buckle up your chinstrap and go to work, or cry about it and say woe is me. Pretty sure everyone knows the route Pittman and his team are taking.
