Pioneer Press sports columnist Charley Walters weighed in on Aaron Rodgers, and he doesn’t think it’s going to be a repeat of Brett Favre’s NFL timeline.
The Packers drafted Jordan Love in the first round of the NFL Draft this year, despite having Rodgers still on the team. People have drawn parallels to Green Bay drafting Rodgers when Favre was an aging veteran on the team.
Favre ended up playing with the Jets, and then the Vikings before ending his career. Many Vikings fans are hoping something similar to that happens again, only this time it’s with Rodgers.
However, Walters wrote that the way it’s looking right now, the “best bet is that Rodgers, if traded, could end up in Las Vegas with the Raiders in the AFC, not the NFC with the Vikings.”
“Such a deal, by the way, might happen sooner than later, maybe even a year from now,” Walters said.
I think that would be enticing, too. So long as he’s not in the division anymore, so the Vikings don’t have to play him twice a year.
