Trading its usual gold livery for a striking shade of pink to to support the American Cancer Society, Chevrolet and the fight against breast cancer (October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month), the No. 01 V-Series.R posted a 1m11.013s lap (128.76mph) time around the 2.54-mile, 12-turn circuit to lead Jack Aitken in the No. 31 Whelen Cadillac Racing entry by 0.476s.

Porsche followed, led by the two Porsche Penske Motorsports 963s split by Philipp Eng in the No. 24 BMW M Team RLL M Hybrid V8. Mathieu Jaminet was quickest of the Porsche trio, setting a 1m11.672s lap in the No. 6,, 0.138s quicker than Eng.

Felipe Fraga was the quickest of the LMP2 drivers in the No. 74 Riley Motorsports ORECA with a 1m12.823s (125.56mph). Jordan Pepper led GTD PRO for Iron Lynx in the No. 19 Lamborghini Huracán, and Miguel Molina headed GTD in the No. 21 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3.
