Pick-sixes in fourth quarter seal Notre Dame’s win over USC

Notre Dame is 11-1 after outlasting USC in a high-scoring game

Notre Dame was leading USC by seven points in the fourth quarter on Saturday at the LA Coliseum. The Fighting Irish picked off two passes by the Trojans and returned them a total of 199 yards en route to a 49-35 win.

Notre Dame is an independent and so it won’t play in a conference championship game. The Fighting Irish finish their regular season 11-1 and will await where the CFP Selection Committee places them.

Christian  Gray, who had been called for two pass interference penalties, returned one pick 99 yards for a score to make it 42-28 after the PAT.

Two minutes and one second later, Xavier Watts picked off a Jordan Maiava pass and returned it 100 yards.
