The North Carolina Tar Heels were able to hold off a late push from Tennessee in Wednesday’s first ACC/SEC Challenge game for both teams.
After building a double-digit lead in the first half, North Carolina led by as many as 24 in the second half. But then behind the play of Dalton Knect, the Volunteers rallied and made this one interesting.
The Volunteers cut the lead down to 7 with a few minutes to go, putting some pressure on the Tar Heels. Eventually, UNC would hit some big free throws and finally put it away to move to 6-1 on the year.
